I am a PhD student at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information. My research investigates how underlying infrastructures and platforms affect online communication. Specifically, I am interested in how web developers shape the direction of the Internet by creating, contesting, co-opting and compromising platforms and standards.
In 2016 I was a research intern at NTT Communication Science laboratories in Japan, where I carried out a study of international students to identify ways to support their adaptation to a new country.
